- What is your relationship with the Pinchbeck Rose Farm?

Tom Pinchbeck, fourth generation rose grower is our head grower and Director of Operations. Roses for Autism leases the property we use from Pinchbeck, Inc.
- What business are you in?

We provide hands-on career training for individuals on the autism spectrum who are preparing to enter the workforce. Participants in our program work side-by-side with Roses for Autism employees to operate a commercial flower business that supports the ‘in situ’ job training practically and financially.
- Are purchases of flowers and other products tax-deductible?

No, because the flower business within our non-profit organization is a business and customers receive goods in exchange of their purchase. Donations, however, are tax-deductible, for example sponsoring a student in the Career Training Program, as well as any donation you might make at the end of your transaction. All profits we do make from the flower business are redirected into the Career Training Program.
- What types of career training opportunities are available at Roses for Autism?

Participants can develop skills in agricultural jobs such as planting, weeding, and growing, as well as floral design, office management, retail store operations, e-marketing, customer relations, data management, building maintenance, and grounds keeping.
- How many employees do you have?

Today the company employs 25 full-time and part-time workers in an inclusive work environment, with 30% of employees on the autism spectrum. Our goal is to continue that ratio as we grow and expand, and we will post job openings online on an as-needed basis.
- What are your business hours?

Our commercial retail store is open Monday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our employees work in our greenhouses 365 days a year cutting our flowers. Our career training program offers services during normal business hours, evening sessions, and Saturdays.
